W066$ | Equity Through Creative Robotics (Room 235)

Merely giving learners access to STEAM technologies will not solve the digital divide between students with technology skills and those without. If we do not use STEAM tools to consciously address the digital divide, we only widen it. We must also consider how we use these tools. Creativity in the classroom through maker education may be the most powerful and accessible strategy for teachers to address inequity. In this hands-on session, participants will learn how to address the digital divide through making by learning to code and build their own creative robotics projects using the Hummingbird Robotics Kit.
