Designer Renia Pruchnicki started the company in 2001. With a degree in fashion design/production and 7 years experience as a product designer where she developed products such as ski wear, cosmetic and travel bags, Renia set out to create a life that she loved.
For the first decade Renia ran Truth on a part time basis while working as a product designer for a company designing soft-sided coolers and lunch carriers. This allowed her to survive in a niche market where the demand for vegan fashion accessories is not nearly as high as it is today.
In 2003, PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) awarded Truth a Proggy Award for “Best Leather Replacement Clothing Company in North America”. MOQ = $250.00
