Micronor Inc. was founded in 2003 in Newbury Park, California and has been a pioneer of innovative Fiber Optic Kinetic Sensors for both industrial and medical applications ever since. The founders accurately predicted the need for fiber optic kinetic sensors which provide immunity from lightning, EMI/RFI, radiation, voltage and magnetic fields. Based on an inventive and patented technology of using wavelength as an information carrier, the first product introduced was the incremental encoder used in the transportation, mining, oil and gas industries for position sensing and speed control of VFD drives.
Since then, Micronor has expanded its Fiber Optic product line to include the unique Absolute Encoder with 14 Bit resolution, an Emergency Stop capable of traveling up to 10km, and an MRI safe Microswitch. As a creative and flexible company, Micronor offers a wide range of fiber optic sensors for measuring position, speed, and temperature.
Due to a deep technical fiber optics know-how, Micronor has partnered with over 150 companies to implement custom fiber optic sensor projects.
