Loren began her career in archaeology with a passion for prehistoric textiles. Embodying the motto of Phi Beta Kappa “love of learning is the guide of life,” her quest for knowledge and artistic inclinations led her to ancient metalsmithing. The medium blended her passions, sparking a need for Loren to create and share her vision of the past. LOREN NICOLE is her way to connect us globally through our shared visual histories.
Made in the old way, designed with modern sensibilities. LOREN NICOLE launched Summer 2016, with the objective to create comfortable jewelry for the everyday man and woman, focused on the richness of high karat yellow gold expressed through texture.
The collection celebrates the ancient metalsmith, by carrying on their jewelry making and weaving traditions that have been in place for centuries. Our collections showcase ancient techniques, such as an expanding library of handwoven ancient chains and the art of granulation; a 3500 year old technique first employed by the Etruscans to create layers of pattern through
the application of tiny granules.
Loren, inspired by ancient civilizations and ethnographic cultures, seeks to capture the essence of a civilization in each collection. In isolating the key aesthetic element, she can maintain a connection to its past, while elevating the design into a modern,
wearable work of art.
