Ray’s enduring love for the craft of making fine jewelry spans more than forty years and has been his constant companion whilst creating fabulous jewels for his avid fans. Every detailed cutout and polished edge represents the culmination of his life work. Recalling his shoemaker father, his years of training under master jeweler mentors, his years as a designer and jeweler in prominent jewelry boutiques and his travels throughout the world.
The signature of Ray's jewelry designs is Crownwork. Crownwork's design roots are in Ray's early training restoring Vintage Europea suites of jewelry. Aside from the distinctive design element, crownwork takes much of the weight from the jewelry allowing Ray's designs to retain visual heft, yet remain light and east to wear.
Ray is also passionate about gemstones and is drawn to stones that are individual and interesting. Thorugh his jewelry desgns he strives to enhance the natural beauty of the stones he uses.
