Le Bon Magot was conceived in February 2015 as a family business and the winner of 5 Sofi Awards. “Magot” or the hidden treasure specializes in African, Middle Eastern and South Asian inspired condiments and culinary ingredients: caponata, chutney, conserve, marmalata, preserves, tapenade and dressing. Our products are made in the heart of wine country on the North Fork of Long Island where we benefit from sourcing local produce and other ingredients from the surrounding wineries.
Where and how we source our ingredients warrants mention. For example, our produce and vinegar's are sourced locally from among others the Wölffer Estate Vineyards, Sagaponack, New York, while our dried fruits and spices come from trusted traders, including the Master Spice Blender himself, of Chef Lior Lev Sercarz of La Boîte-New York.
Given our exacting approach, we have managed to secure shelf space with select fine food purveyors and built a growing reputation in food service with high quality restaurants. The ethos of Le Bon Magot® is to create Crafted Products from Heritage Recipes using High-Quality Seasonal Produce, Custom-Blended Aromatics and No Preservatives. As if the distinctive look and taste of the products is not enough, a notable feature of our condiments is an Enduring Shelf-Life, which has been achieved through classical, proven cooking and preserving techniques (e.g. pickling, temperature control, oil, sugar).
CHARISSA is a unique Moroccan-inspired seasoning with a twist on traditional Harissa paste. By replacing the hot pwppers and tomatoes with cumin (the "c" in cumin) and paprika, the end result is a flavorful condiment that is appealong to the American palate. Unlike other condiments that "smother" their host, cHarissa enhances the flavor of whatever it is paired with.CHARISSA is available as a ready-to-use condiment and as a dry rub. Both the seasoning and the spice rub are sold in the orif=ginal flavor (milder) and With a Kick! (spicier). The condiment is a fully prepared cooking, dipping or finishing sauce, marinade or ingredient and can be added to soups or chili or mixed with mayonnaise, hummus or yogurt. The dry rub is perfect for grilling and sauteeing, or sprinkled over popcorn, chips & french fries.
