NTK's selection of Alumina TiC based ceramic grades including HC2, HC5, HC7, and coated ZC4 and ZC7 are ideal for mill roll and hard turning applications utilizing high cutting speeds. This black ceramic machines steels (ex. D2), chilled and ductile cast iron and CPM rolls (ex. powdered metal) as well as hard turning applications from 50 to 65Rc. Our coated ZC4 is suited for turning up to 70Rc. NTK's Whisker reinforced ceramic, WA1, can be applied to carbide roll and welded overlay applications.
NTK also carries a variety of CBN grades for hard turning and cast iron applications. B99 (93% CBN by vol.) can be utilized when machining carbide rolls.
