The Serious Foodie has developed gourmet sauces to enable the home cook to produce inspired restaurant level food using simple cooking techniques. Each gourmet sauce has been created and produced with a small-batch artisanal approach – we respect the raw materials, knowing the origins of each ingredient, and how to enhance flavors using good technique.  Our sauces are gluten-free and use only natural ingredients. Our team has mastered the craft of small batch production, and we have an experiential, intuitive, scientific, and inspirational understanding of what makes products special.  Our first products focus on unique international flavors:




  • Blood Orange/Aji Panca Cooking Sauce: The deep, smoky, fruity taste taste of the aji panca matches the sweet/tart blood orange juice. A great match with fish, beef, poultry - and especially with roasted vegetables.

  • Fig/Orange Finishing Sauce: A Southern Italian inspired sauce that combines these figs, oranges and Meyer lemons to create the very versatile sauce you can use to glaze or marinate poultry, pork and vegetables.

  • Mango/Aji Amarillo Cooking Sauce: Fruity and spicy come together. The sauce is a perfect gourmet balance – bold but not overly spicy. Combine this sauce with any meat or fish while cooking, or simply add it at the end as a condiment. It can be used as a grilling sauce for shrimp, or glazing pork, chicken, or fish.

  • Mirasol Mole Cooking Sauce: A Mexican-inspired sauce that combines aromatic spices and a hint of cocoa with fresh mirasol peppers.  Use to braise pork, beef, or chicken - or simply use as a condiment for enchiladas or tacos.

  • Pomegranate Finishing Sauce: Sweet/tangy pomegranate makes this an “Up-scaled BBQ sauce”.  Perfect for poultry, pork and vegetables, either added at the end of cooking or as a glaze while cooking.

  • Roasted Hatch Chile Cooking Sauce: Flavors of Southwest cooking with pure authentic ingredients.  Great with meat, poultry, fish, eggs, and vegetables.  Makes an amazing chicken taco.

  • Romesco Finishing Sauce: A unique twist on the classic Spanish sauce, using Lemon Drop peppers to add a bit of spice.  Deliciously pairs with meat, shell fish, poultry, and eggs.



The company was started by a father and son team with a great story:  Jim Pachence, Ph.D. is the biotech guy turned chef, while Paul Pachence adds his years of creative talent to branding and marketing.
