ANCHAL’S SS19 COLLECTION WILL DEBUT AT NY NOW’S WINTER MARKET

New Collection of Sustainable Home Goods & Gifts on Display in Coveted Accent on Design®

Louisville, KY. (February 4, 2019) – Anchal will launch their Spring/Summer ‘19 collection at the NY NOW Winter Market. Expanding on the tremendous success of the award-winning Narrative Collection, Anchal’s SS19 Crescent Lattice Collection continues to push the boundaries of contemporary handcrafted goods through creative storytelling and exceptional design.

During a recent trip to India, the team was inspired by the ornamental elements and geometric patterns found in the Jali. A signature in Indian architecture, the Jali is perforated stone that acts as a cooling system, compressing and reducing the hot and humid air as it passes through. But beyond its functionality, the Jali’s intricate and decorative patterns provide aesthetic beauty while illuminating a space as moonlight transcends the openings.

The Crescent Lattice Quilt was  inspired by a two-dimensional photograph that was interpreted and transformed into a quilted textile design. The coordinating pillows took the design a step further by incorporating spherical designs mimicking the lunar calendar.  The moon holds cultural importance in India, often dictating festivals and religious observances. The night of the new moon is considered especially auspicious with people gathering under the night sky to welcome it and it’s good fortune. The newest collection merges these two themes to introduces circular geometric composition with a neutral but bold color palette.

With backgrounds in landscape architecture and architecture, sisters Colleen and Maggie Clines lead the brand by placing design at the center of Anchal’s everyday practice. Their contemporary lifestyle brand is defined by sophisticated hand quilting and women’s empowerment, revolutionizing traditional kantha quilting techniques.

Ranging in price from $12-$356, Anchal's SS19 collection  will be available for purchase in March on anchalproject.org.
