NOVEMBER 13, 2017 - Huber Engineered Materials, a major global producer of inorganic materials, including ATH, alumina, magnesium hydroxide, calcium carbonate, and calcium-based nutritional ingredients, through Huber Carbonates, LLC (“Huber”) has concluded an agreement with CIMBAR Performance Minerals, Inc., (“Cimbar”) a leading global producer of barium sulfates, talc, magnesium hydroxide, and recycled mineral products, for CIMBAR to sell its calcium carbonate business to Huber and for Huber to sell its barite business to CIMBAR. All customers purchasing Cimbar’s RiverCal® specialty calcium carbonate will be transitioned to one of Huber’s high purity Q, W, or Optifil® calcium carbonate lines. Likewise, customers purchasing Huber’s Huberbrite® barium sulfate will be transitioned to Cimbar’s high purity CIMBAR® white barium sulfate product lines. Huber and Cimbar will work together to coordinate the transition efficiently and seamlessly by working with each customer to facilitate a shift to the respective supplier’s products.
