Agour means “Hello & welcome” in Basque and was been founded in 1981 by Jean Etchelecu. It is the last family dairy of the Basque Country
Agour is a medium sized company employing 45 people now directed by his son, Peio Etchelecu. We are specialized in sheep cheese, especially Ossau-Iraty sheep cheese, Jambon de Bayonne and local cookies. Agour has been recognized many time as the Best Ossau Iraty producer winning twice the World Best Cheese award. They are proud of their terroir and history.
