Bionic Power Inc. designs and manufactures PowerWalk, a kinetic energy harvester that generates energy while users walk. Worn at the knee, PowerWalk generates 10-12 watts over variable terrain which is sufficient to charge a smart phone in less than an hour. PowerWalk provides energy security for dismounted soldiers and can reduce the amount of batteries that soldiers need to carry. PowerWalk was designed in consultation with the US Army through NSRDEC.
