Due Cellucci tomato sauces are all natural and made only from real, whole foods. They are handmade in New York in small batches so that every jar tastes homemade...but without all the work for you. Our recipes are true to the way my family has made them for over 50 years. All our products are personally hand cooked so we can ensure each jar of sauce tastes the way my grandfather made it in Naples. We are a fun company who is serious about good food and giving back. Our mission is to fill your belly and also warm your heart.
When we were young, my brothers and I would often visit our dad, Chef Enzo, in the kitchen of our family-owned restaurant in Connecticut. For over 25 years, he made delicious food that made people happy and I realized how fortunate we were to enjoy his delicious and healthy recipes. My younger brother, Enzo, a wonderful recreational cook, had a plan to "spread the love" by sharing my family's sauces. Sadly, Enzo lost his battle with Leukemia in 2003. With the love I have for my own children, I decided to finish what my brother started. Today my dad is retired from the restaurant business, and I proudly cook and jar my family's sauces, with him, in my brother's memory. My boys never got to meet Enzo, but they will know that their Zio (uncle) was a kind, smart and joyful person that inspired their mom to create something meaningful. In honor of Enzo, a portion of the proceeds from each jar of Due Cellucci goes to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. My hope is that our family's recipes will transform your meals and do a little good in the process!
Why the birds?
Due Cellucci means Two Little Birds. "Due" means two. "Cellucci" is a slang word that is associated with our family's hometown of Villa Santa Maria in the Abruzzi region of Italy. It means little bird. My family has affectionately called my two sons our "due cellucci" since they were born. Our family and our sauces are made with lots of love!
