Women In Defense (WID), A National Security Organization’s mission is to cultivate and support the advancement and recognition of women serving in all aspects of national security. WID was established to provide a formal environment for professional growth through networking, education, and career development. Established in 1985 as a 501(c)3 WID became an affiliate of National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) in 2004. WID has nearly 4,000 members and prides itself on 20 Chapters in key geographic areas. WID’s members are from defense companies and related small, medium and large businesses, all branches of U.S. Armed Forces, government agencies, academia, associations and professional services. WID produces National and Chapter educational programs, provides Awards and Scholarships and collaborates on WOSB and STEM initiatives.
