My name is Gozde Yilmaz- I was born in Ankara, Turkey where I studied Fine Art and Sculpture. A few years after graduating I went on a cross country bicycle ride in the US. Seeing this country in such a way made me fall in love and stay. I later moved to Philadelphia, PA where I went to Temple University's Tyler School of Art to continue my Fine Arts education as well as a minor in 3D printing. I knew I wanted to share my art in a way that would be unique but accessible and that is when Atelier 5 was born. I begin by first making my artwork using mediums such as oil painting, watercolor, colored pencils, or digital art. Then, I digitally transfer and print my artworks so that by using heat sublimation I can then physically transfer my artworks onto my garments. All of my garments are designed, cut, and sewn in my Philadelphia studio. I design my garments to be inclusive of women of all shapes and sizes and my entire process is all done by hand. Each Atelier 5 piece created is unique in it's own way and when you buy from us your choices are endless thanks to our customization orders! Every artwork is available to be printed on every garment and both are available all year round.
