The service is free to all responders and anyone who deals with hazardous material emergencies.

And to aid in response to the incident, CHEMTREC can immediately access response specialists within the AMERICAN CHEMISTRY COUNCIL’S’s membership, within the carrier community, public emergency services, and private contractors.
CHEMTREC’s Emergency Service Specialists – or ESS – can provide immediate guidance and links to technical expertise, and medical and toxicological advice and information through material safety data sheets and other resources.

Additionally, information regarding tank car, truck, or other container contents is routinely provided during emergencies through carrier contacts, shipping documents, and other systems and resources available to CHEMTREC ESS. When necessary, the ESS can establish direct communications between these experts, CHEMTREC personnel and the responders at the scene in order to resolve the incident efficiently and safely.
