World Archery is the international governing body for the important Olympic sport of archery. It was founded in 1931 and is headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland, the home of the International Olympic Committee.
World Archery is responsible for organising World Archery Championships (in outdoor, indoor, field and 3D disciplines, and for para athletes), maintaining international archery rules, the sport at the Olympic, Paralympic and World Games, and promoting and developing archery internationally and in nations around the globe.
The federation also created and manages the Hyundai Archery World Cup, the premier international archery competition circuit, which began in 2006 and is broadcasted around the world.
World Archery’s vision is for a world in which everyone has the opportunity to make the important Olympic sport of archery their activity of choice. Its mission is to empower its member associations to make archery a leading sport in nations around the world.
