Hyperion's distributed fiber sensor allows REAL TIME monitoring of the core and coil so that common transformer faults can be detected and mitigated prior to failure.
Hyperion was founded with a vision to take the advantages of fiber optic sensing into the high voltage electrical domain. Currently, the only sensors capable of monitoring temperatures inside a transformer core are "spot" sensors, which only monitor a very limited area or spot (defined by the size of the sensing element).
