SPI is a non-profit organization founded in 1998 by John Batcha, then Director of Asgrow Seed, to ensure that excess top-quality vegetable seed can effectively reach those facing hunger and starvation worldwide. SPI has since shipped 14 million seed packets to 75 countries - all of which would be impossible without seed trade support.
