Heartbeat NOLA is raising awareness about Sudden Cardiac Arrest, the leading cause of death in the US, and what the hospitality and events industry can do to be better prepared for an emergency, lifesaving situation. Every year, over 360,000 people suffer an out of hospital SCA, and 90% will die. With immediate CPR and access to an AED, survival rate increases dramatically. By providing more accessible AEDs in the workplace, and by training those who work in hotels, restaurants, bars, music clubs, event venues, DMCs, caterers and festival staffers, we can make survival from SCA the norm rather than the exception. Together we will save lives!
