The portable CNC wheel lathe is an affordable way to keep locomotives on track without the need to spend millions of dollars to get the job done. It's very good for emergency situations as well. It's accurate profile can remove flat spots, high flanges, and worn tread. It's easy to set up and operate, and turns wheels symmetrically within FRA Requirements enhancing safety, while producing results more accurate than a manual lathe with less labor. Our Under-Floor, RTS1000 and Above-Floor, RTS2000 are both constructed as a one piece for easier installation, simple pit configuration or less floor space, requires fewer parts, and will require less maintenance. Re-profiling – Our systems utilize FANUC CNC 35 I-B Alpha Series controls with the ability to create any profile for our customers and provides correct profile every time, taking away the guess work. Multiple Profiles available. Profiles are programmed into the control and there is no need to purchase separate cutters which in turn is a cost savings to the customer.
