CURENT (Center for Ultra-Wide-Area Resilient Electric Energy Transmission Networks) is a 10-yr, NSF/DOE funded Engineering Research Center. Our mission is to design a transmission grid that is fully monitored and dynamically controlled in real-time for a highly efficient, reliable, low cost sytstem and accommodate renewable energy sources, energy storage and responsive load. CURENT's Industry and Innovation Program links research into technology transfer and commercially viable products. We are helping to create a new generation of electric power and systems engineers.
