Calgon Carbon's Chemviron Carbon Cloth Division manufactures Zorflex® wound contact dressings, proven by clinical evaluations* ** internationally to accelerate the healing of chronic wounds. Their 3-way action includes 1: a naturally antimicrobial effect that draws, traps and kills microbes, 'cleaning' the wound bed to promote healing; 2: conductivity, aiding healing by restoring the skin's 'epidermal battery'; and 3: odor management, adsorbing odor molecules and combating malodor-causing microbes. A highly flexible textile, Zorflex conforms to the body’s contours and is easy to cut, fold or pack into cavities or fistulas. Zorflex is suitable for treating venous, diabetic and pressure ulcers, as well as infected trauma, surgical and excision wounds. Also usable on infected graft donor site wounds and fungal skin infections. A 45-subject* clinical evaluation in 2014 observed that Zorflex's advantages are: "rapid elimination of odor and control of infection; exudation stops and spontaneous wound healing begins; overall costs are reduced by faster wound closure times." * M Kaiser et al (Switzerland), 2014; **Wound Care Consultants (UK), 2016.
