The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) manages over $1.3 trillion in public funds annually and has the fiduciary responsibility of being good stewards of these funds.  The DATA Act Program Management (DAP) located in the HHS Office of the Assistant Secretary for Financial Resources (ASFR) has the overarching responsibility for the Department-wide implementation of the DATA Act and sets the strategic framework for HHS’s implementation of the DATA Act and operates in partnership with HHS’ Operating/Staff Divisions and System Business Owners to ensure government-wide data standards, data exchange and data reporting requirements are met and implemented. Additionally, DAP, as OMB’s designated executing agent, is also tasked with coordinating the implementation of the Section 5 DATA Act grants pilot on behalf of OMB as well as engagement with the government-wide Interagency Advisory Council for the DATA Act.
