The Institute for Internal Controls is dedicated to promoting an effective internal controls environment by providing research and education in the area of internal controls. As an indicator of expertise in internal controls, the IIC grants the designation of Certified Internal Controls Auditor & Certified Controls Specialist. During the AGA Conference, the IIC will offer attendees with expertise in internal controls the CICA or CCS certification under the Grandfathering Provision without examination. The CICA designation is offered to candidates in auditing or similar positions with expertise in the auditing or monitoring of internal controls. The CCS designation is offered to non-auditing professionals with expertise in areas of internal controls including Management controls, Operational controls, IT Controls, Physical Security, and OMB Circular A-123.
