Phil is a native Augustan, the son of parents whose careers brought them to Fort Gordon. He serves as Vice President of the Greater Augusta Information Systems Security Association (ISSA), and co-founded BSidesAugusta in 2013. Phil currently serves as Chief Operating Officer at Security Onion Solutions, which provides training and professional services around Security Onion, a free and open source network security monitoring platform. Prior to joining Security Onion Solutions, Phil was a Principal Consultant at Mandiant, which took him around the US and the globe helping clients solve problems. He spent fifteen years on Fort Gordon in a myriad of government and contracting roles, primarily as a member of the US Army's Regional Computer Emergency Response Team - South. Phil has also served as the Chief Security Officer of Lockheed Martin's DISA GSM-O program.
