Giovanni Nisato is business and technology development senior manager at CSEM Muttenz, Switzerland and is responsible for CSEM activities in printable electronics and photovoltaics. CSEM is a Swiss private company with public shareholders that delivers R&D innovative projects to its customers (from SMEs to multinationals) and supports the creation of start-ups. He studied physics in Montpellier (FR), UNC Chapel Hill (USA) and Strasbourg (FR) where he obtained a doctorate in soft matter physics in 1997. He worked as guest researcher at NIST’s polymers division, in Gaithersburg (USA) until 1999 on neutron scattering, dendrimer structure and polymer blends systems. He then joined Philips Research in Eindhoven in 1999 where he worked on flexible LCD displays, OLEDs, and needle-less electronic drug delivery systems. He joined CSEM in 2009 as section head for Polymer optoelectronics. Dr. Nisato participated in and coordinated European projects, including “Sunflower” (organic PV, 4.5 year, 17 partners) . He currently serves on the board of the Organic and Printable Electronic Association (OE-A).
