Mr. Long became Product Owner of Biometric Systems for USCIS in May of 2014. As an Agile Development Product Owner, Damien has implemented Biometric Identity Management in USCIS’s Customer Profile Management System through close integration with DHS/IDENT, FBI/NGI, and DOD/ABIS. Damien’s Agile Teams have also deployed a Biometric Verification web application that allows interviewing officer’s to verify the identity of applicants prior to interview and is expanding this capability to 2,500 users in October.
Prior to joining USCIS Damien served 4 years as an IDENT System Owner with US-VISIT and OBIM where he aided in the improvement of IDENT capabilities and onboarding and enhancing other federal agencies use of IDENT services. Most notably Damien was integral in synchronizing the holding and sharing of KST biometrics across DHS, DOJ, and DOD and onboarding the Terrorist Screening Center to provide KST biometrics to DHS/IDENT in real-time.
