Major General Kevin B. Schneider is Chief of Staff of Headquarters U.S. Pacific Command, Camp Smith, Hawaii. He is responsible for the development of plans, policies, and procedures to ensure efficient operation and seamless interface between headquarters staff, component commands, and subordinate organizations. He oversees command policy and programs which support the Combatant Commander’s priorities and promote U.S. interests in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region through peace, crisis, and war. Gen. Schneider was commissioned in 1988 and earned his pilot wings from the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training program. He attended the F-16 Weapons Instructor Course and later served as an F-16 Division instructor pilot at the Weapons School. Gen. Schneider’s command tours include command of the 80th Fighter Squadron at Kunsan, Korea, the multi-national 80th Flying Training Wing at Sheppard AFB, Texas, and the 380th Air Expeditionary Wing in the U.S. Central Command Area of Responsibility. His staff assignments include tours on the Joint Staff and on the Air Staff as the Director of Air Force General Officer Management. General Schneider also served as the Assistant Deputy Commander, U.S. Air Forces Central Command, and the Assistant Vice Commander, 9th Air Expeditionary Task Force. Prior to his position at U.S. Pacific Command, he served as Chief of Staff, Headquarters Pacific Air Forces. The general is a command pilot with more than 3,800 flight hours and 530 combat hours flown during operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
