Rajagopal Balachander

National Institute of Rock Mechanics


Mr. Balachander is currently working as a Scientist in the Department of Rock Blasting & Excavation Engineering, National Institute of Rock Mechanics, Bangalore, India. He has over 20 years of experience in rock blasting and excavation engineering. He is an under graduate in Electrical Eng. (1987) & Mining and Mine Surveying (1993). He has extensively worked in the area of controlled blasting in Mining, Hydroelectric and Urban blasting projects. He has authored/co-authored about 120 technical reports and about 50 technical papers. He is a member of various professional bodies and takes active interest in technology implementation to blasting related industry. He has delivered lectures to practicing Mining and Civil Engineers at various forums as an expert faculty in Rock Blasting.
