In March 2016, John H. Derbas was designated as Deputy Assistant Director of the FBI’s Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division, Operational Programs Branch. He oversees the full range of the CJIS Division’s crime reduction and terrorism prevention programs and initiatives, which include the National Crime Information Center, National Data Exchange, Global Collections, Biometric Interoperability, Law Enforcement Enterprise Portal, and Uniform Crime Reporting.
Mr. Derbas began his career as a Special Agent with the FBI in 1996. He served in various field offices and FBI Headquarters before being promoted to the senior executive service as section chief of the CJIS Division’s Law Enforcement Support Section in August 2013. Mr. Derbas has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Bradley University in Peoria, IL.
