Matt Lenkowsky joined USCIS as a branch chief of the Security Vetting and Program Integrity Branch of the RAIO FDNS/Refugee Affairs Division in February 2016. In this capacity, he manages a team of officers  that is responsible for Refugee Affairs Division’s efforts to identify fraud among applicants, promote appropriate international information sharing on refugee resettlement issues, and prevent individuals who pose a security risk to the United States from gaining access through the US Refugee Admissions Program.

Prior to joining USCIS, Mr. Lenkowsky was the Branch Chief of the Travel and Immigration Branch in DHS’s Office of Intelligence & Analysis, where he ran a team of analysts who examined terrorist threats to US Government administered travel and immigration programs. Mr. Lenkowsky was widely recognized across the US Government as an expert in the use of intelligence information to enhance the US Government’s ability to identify and disrupt both known and unknown terrorists seeking to gain access to the United States or travelling to foreign conflict zones. Mr. Lenkowsky regularly provided advice and support to senior DHS policymakers, and other US Government leaders, on these issues.

Mr. Lenkowsky received a bachelor’s degree from Franklin & Marshall College and master’s degrees in public administration and international relations from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University.
