Anil Jain is a University Distinguished Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Michigan State University. His research interests cover pattern recognition, computer vision, and biometric recognition. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and is the recipient of Guggenheim fellowship, Humboldt Research award, Fulbright fellowship, IEEE W. Wallace McDowell award, and IAPR King-Sun Fu Prize. He served as a member of the Defense Science Board, NRC study teams on biometrics and IED, and NIST Forensic Science Standards Board. Anil Jain’s ongoing research addresses latent fingerprint quality assessment, large-scale face search, longitudinal study of face recognition, fingerprint and face spoof detection, and proof of concept for fingerprint recognition of children (infants and toddlers) for social good (vaccination tracking, health care, and  social services).
