COL Laroy Peyton, raised in Monticello, Mississippi, earned his commission from Jackson State University in May 1990. He graduated as a Distinguished Military Graduate with a selection into the Armor Branch. His military education includes the Armor Officer Basic Course, the Scout Platoon Leader Course, the M3 Scout Commanders Certification Course, the Signal Officer Branch Qualification Course, the Standardized Communications Security Custodian Course, the Signal Officer Advanced Course, Space Operations Course, resident Command and General Staff College, Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy, the Air Assault School, and the Basic and Advanced Airborne Schools.
