COL Todd Turner is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated from the United States Military Academy and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in Aviation in 1994. From 1995-1998, COL Turner served as a Brigade Assistant S-1, Aeroscout Platoon Leader (OH-58A/C), and Battalion S-4 in the 25th Infantry Division, Wheeler AAF, HI. From 1999-2002, COL Turner served as an Assistant S-3, Flight Company Commander (AH-64A), and Battalion S-3 in 1st Infantry Division, Katterbach AAF, Germany. From 2002-2003, COL Turner commanded Tucson Recruiting Company in Tucson, AZ. From 2003-2008, COL Turner was assigned to 1st and 4th Battalions, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne) where he served as a Battalion Assistant S-3, Battalion XO, Battalion S-3, and Flight Company Commander (MH-47G) at Fort Campbell, KY and Fort Lewis, WA. From 2009-2011, COL Turner was assigned to Aviation Tactics and Evaluation Group, Joint Special Operations Command at Fort Bragg, NC where he served as a Joint Air Planner, Rotary Wing Assault Division Chief, and a Joint Special Operations Air Detachment Commander. From 2011-2013, COL Turner served as the Battalion Commander for 2-501st General Support Aviation Battalion (UH/HH-60A/L and CH-47F) at Fort Bliss, TX, and TF Iron Knights in RC-N Afghanistan. From 2013 – 2014, COL Turner served as the Deputy Director of Aviation and XO to the Deputy Chief of Staff, G357, HQs, FORSCOM. COL Turner has served as the Chief, Strategic Initiatives Group, Cyber CoE, since his arrival to Fort Gordon in July 2015. COL Turner’s deployments include: OPERATION JOINT GUARDIAN in support of KFOR 1A in Kosovo and multiple rotations to Afghanistan in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM.
