Elizabeth McLean is an attorney for GoodHire, an employment screening firm. She graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina School of Law, and has spent her entire legal career advising employment screening companies and working with consumers on whom background reports have been run. In addition to holding an advanced FCRA certification from the National Association of Professional Background Screeners, she also works closely with employers to ensure compliance with the state and local laws regulating employment screening, including evolving ban-the-box initiatives and legal restrictions on salary history inquiries. Her professional interests include federal FCRA compliance, ban the box law compliance, and fair hiring initiatives. She has presented numerous webinars in collaboration with partners across the HR industry and was a panel speaker for the 2016 Second Chance Summit in San Francisco, CA.
