LTC John Hosey is a United States Army Cyber Officer. He is currently serving as the Operations Officer in Charge for United States Army Cyber Protection Brigade. Previously, he served as the Data Services Chief for Operations to the Chief Information Officer of the Defense Intelligence Agency at Camp Smith, Hawaii. In this capacity, he worked as the Operations chief for Data Management Policy, Cross Domain Solutions, Databases, and Modernized Integrated Database within the Defense Intelligence Agency enterprise footprint. John was commissioned as a US Army officer in the field artillery upon graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcasting and Electronic Media, from the University of Memphis in 1999. He served as a Fire Support Officer with 1-319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment in Fort Bragg, North Carolina then as an Aide-de-Camp to the Chief of Staff, XVIII Airborne Corps, including an initial deployment to Afghanistan. While attending the Field Artillery Captain’s Career Course, he earned his Master’s degree in Management from Webster’s University. LTC Hosey later commanded B/2-20 FA (MLRS) with the 41st Fires Brigade, during this tour he participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom 2005 to 2006, with support to first and third brigades of the 101st Airborne Division. In 2008 he became an Information Systems Manager for the Army, earning a Master’s Degree in computer science from the University of Tulsa. LTC Hosey’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal with oak leaf cluster, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with 3 oak leaf clusters, and the Army Achievement Medal. He earned the Airborne Badge, Jumpmaster Qualification, and the Ranger Tab. LTC Hosey is married to Jennifer, and they have three wonderful children Zachary, Elizabeth, and Alekzander.
