LTC Mary Rezendes assumed duties as the Director of the Office, Chief of Signal and the Signal Corps Regimental Adjutant, at the US Army Signal School at Fort Gordon, GA (FGGA) in August, 2015. She began her military career by enlisting in the US Army Reserve (USAR) in September, 1987, as a 71L Clerk-Typist, while attending college. She earned a commission as a Signal Corps Second Lieutenant in December, 1990, through the ROTC program at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. During almost thirteen years in the Reserve Component, LTC Rezendes served in the USAR, Nebraska Army National Guard (NEARNG), Inactive Ready Reserve, and as an Individual Mobilization Augmentee. LTC Rezendes was a Platoon Leader in A Company (Co), 135 Signal (Sig) Battalion (Bn) (NEARNG) and later in the 982 Sig Co (Combat Camera) in the USAR. While serving in the USAR, she served in staff positions in the US Southern Command J3 and J6 in the Republic of Panama’; the US Army Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command G4 at Fort Bragg, NC (FBNC); the 359 Sig Brigade (Bde) at FGGA; and the 335 Sig Command (Theater) at East Point, GA. LTC Rezendes commanded A Co, 324 Sig Bn at Clemson, SC, before transferring to the Regular Army in March, 2000. After completion of the Signal Captains Career Course at FGGA in 2000, LTC Rezendes served as the S4 of the 112 Special Operations (SO) Sig Bn (Airborne) (A) at FBNC, and also commanded Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 112 Sig Bn (SO) (A). Following command, LTC Rezendes was the Signal Project Officer at the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School’s Special Operations Battle Lab at FBNC. She then served as the Force Modernization Officer, G6, XVIII Airborne Corps and the Rear Detachment Corps G6 at FBNC. LTC Rezendes next served as the Bn Executive Officer of 51 Sig Bn (A) at Camp Echo, Iraq and FBNC, until 51 Sig Bn (A) inactivated. LTC Rezendes served as the S4 of the 35 Sig Bde (A) at FBNC until its inactivation in April, 2007.
