Acquisition Logistics Technology Enterprise Systems and Services (ALTESS)


Scott Friend is the Acting Deputy Product Lead for Product Lead, Acquisition, Logistics & Technology Enterprise Systems & Services (PL ALTESS). Mr. Friend has worked in the Information Technology (IT) field supporting both public and private enterprises for over 15 years. Originally from Oak Ridge, TN, Mr. Friend joined ALTESS in 2007 after working in private industry, and in 2009, became ALTESS’ Enterprise Systems Division Chief. In this role he oversaw significant data center improvement projets, and grew the divisions workforce to support nearly double number of hosted system. Mr. Friend then became the CTO and took leadership of the Service Delivery division in 2015, where he instantiated a rigorous engineering process across the organization. Most recently, Mr. Friend is serving as the Acting Deputy Product Lead for ALTESS. Mr. Friend is a graduate of Virginia Tech with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. He has received the Superior Civilian Service Award for his service.
