The Dorrance
Born and raised on the Jersey shore, bartender Greg Mayer began his career in the hospitality industry behind a grill, rather than behind the stick. After working as a line cook along the shore throughout his teenage years, Greg attended Johnson & Wales University where he attained degrees in Culinary Arts and Food Service Management. While attending school, Greg decided it was time to go in a different direction. He found a home at The Dorrance, one of Providence’s premiere cocktail establishments. Under the direction of Bar Manager and mentor Vito Lantz, Greg honed his skills, rising through the ranks to become the youngest principal bartender at The Dorrance today. Nowadays, you can find him behind the bar, using his culinary skills and knowledge of flavors and cuisines to whip up new and exciting cocktails for his guests.
