Steven Smith is a computer scientist in the Center for Applied Scientific Computing. He joined LLNL in 1991. Steven’s primary focus is scientific application development, software architecture, and software frameworks for high performance computing. His current work is focused on applying high performance computing technologies to large scale communication network simulation. Steven has previously served as software project lead for several projects, including Parflow, the Structured Adaptive Mesh Refinement Application Infrastructure (SAMRAI) and the Multi-Scale Epidemiologic Simulation and Analysis Decision Support System (MESA). Steven Smith received a B.S. degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana/Champaign in 1991 with highest honors and was a recipient of the Bronze Table award.
