Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT)


Mr. Saharath Boonpotipukdee is presently the Deputy Governor – Renewable and New Energy at Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT). He is also acting as EGAT Spokesperson for corporate communication on behalf of EGAT. He studied electrical engineering at Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. After joining EGAT in 1982, he has been spending 25 years of working experience in power plant’s engineering field. His participation in outstanding projects have included Mae Moh Lignite Fired Power Project, Bang Pakong Gas Fired Project, Ratchaburi Gas Fired Power Project, CDM (Clean Development Mechanism) on Lam Takhong Wind Turbine Project, Sirindhorn Solar Photovoltaic Project, and fired small hydropower projects, Nuclear Power Development & Preparation Program. In 1999, he had started up power plant engineering business unit to provide consultancy services to Independent Power Producers (IPPs) and Small Power Producers (SPPs). He successfully holds various executive positions both in EGAT and an affiliate of EGAT. After he took a position of Director of Nuclear Engineering Division, he became Vice President and Executive Vice President accordingly at EGAT International Company, and thereafter he occupied Deputy Governor – Corporate Social Affairs and Deputy Governor To Office of The Governor at EGAT. Now, he dedicates his professional competence and accumulated experience for EGAT’s challenge on renewable and new energy.
