Tommy McKone is a mechanical engineer working in the hot tapping and plugging new product development group at T.D. Williamson in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He graduated from The University of Tulsa with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. During his time at TU, Tommy conducted research for the U.S. Coiled Tubing Mechanics Research Consortium over coiled tubing fatigue failures. Tommy joined TDW after graduation, entering the Engineering Development Program where he worked in several business units across the company including manufacturing, applications, engineer to order, and services. Tommy leveraged knowledge of experts from various TDW business units to complete “Hot Tap Fittings: To Extrude or Fabricate.”
