Responsible for Technical Risk Engineering in the ACE European Group of companies – Europe, Russia, Middle East and Africa. The engineering department supports the claims and underwriting functions that provide insurance for the construction erection and operation, including loss of profits, for all types of power plant. Eldred has been a professional within engineering insurance with ACE, and previously CIGNA and during this time he has held engineering positions in Sydney, Brussels, Paris and London. Prior to joining the insurance industry Eldred was a lecturer in Tertiary and Further Education (Sydney) having completed post graduate qualification after a sea going career. Eldred is a member of the Advisory Board of PowerGen Europe and is a past chair and member of the European Power Committee (EPC). Eldred’s expertise lies in power plant management and performance with emphasis on engineering/maintenance and operations including financial analysis for loss of profits insurance.
