Chuck Deitchman grew up in Los Altos, California and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1976. He was designated an Unrestricted Naval Aviator in 1978. His early career included numerous squadron tours and shipboard deployments leading to command tours at HC-11, HC-3, and Helicopter Tactical Wing, U.S. Atlantic Fleet. As Wing Commander he led nearly 2500 personnel and 80 operational aircraft located in Norfolk, Texas, Italy and Bahrain. After retiring from the Navy, he joined Lockheed Martin Corporation in their Washington Office. His area of responsibility was Helicopter Business Development and included interacting with Senior Department of Defense Officials and the U.S. Congress. This was followed by assignments as Flight Test Director for the MH-60R developmental flight test program in Patuxent River, MD., MH-60R Production Manager in Owego, NY., and the Deputy Program Manager and Aviation Lead for Lockheed’s Littoral Combat Ship Program in Washington, D.C. In 2010 he accepted a position at Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation as the General Manager of the company’s Patuxent River, MD facility. In 2013 he was assigned the additional responsibility of Director Navy Business Development and Strategy with his primary location moving to The Sikorsky Arlington, Virginia Government Business Development Office. Since 2016, with Lockheed Martin’s acquisition of Sikorsky he has been instrumental in aligning Sikorsky Aircraft and Lockheed Martin Mission Systems Naval Helicopter activities.
