Commander Pete Sheehy has been assigned to the Navy Communications Satellite Program since May 2014, where he serves as both the Principal Assistant Program Manager and the Contracting Officer's Representative. Prior to his present assignment, he was assigned to the F-35 program office as the Follow-on Development Program Manager, where he oversaw the establishment of the F-35 modernization program for three US military services and eight coalition partners. CDR Sheehy is a 1997 graduate of the US Naval Academy. He served in operational tours as a Naval Aviator in Carrier Strike Group Seven, Air Test and Evaluation Squadron Nine, and Fighter Squadron Eleven. In 2008, he transitioned to the Aerospace Engineering Duty Officer community, and then went on to serve as Tomahawk Command and Control System Assistant Deputy Program Manager, and Product Integration Lead at PMA-281 in Patuxent River, MD. CDR Sheehy earned a Master of Science in Systems Engineering from Johns Hopkins University in 2010 and a graduate Certificate in Space Systems from the Naval Postgraduate School in 2014. His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (2) and the Navy Achievement Medal (2).
