Jason Phelps is a veteran homebrewer of more than 15 years who took up the hobby after successful cancer treatment in 2003. Jason has received and provided feedback on a wide range of beverages in competition and has won more than 120 medals. He holds BJCP beer and mead certifications and is a United States Association of Cider Makers Certified Cider Professional. Jason writes for Brew Your Own and WineMaker, In March 2018, Jason and his wife Margot opened Ancient Fire Mead & Cider in Manchester, N.H., which produces draft-style meads, wine-style meads, and ciders.
