Chris Lau began working for OLSENBEAL in 1996 as a draftsman, surveyor, and project coordinator. Upon completion of his Bachelor of Science degree, he was hired as a full-time employee of OlsenBeal. In 1999, OlsenBeal entered the wind energy industry by providing wind turbine installation services for SeaWest (now AES). In 2001, Chris was charged with running the wind division at OlsenBeal and has been involved with WTG installation ever since. With close to 20 years of experience in the wind industry, Chris is very familiar with many of the safety challenges and best practices that found in WTG installation. He is currently the Vice President of windmill operations at OlsenBeal, having overseen the installation of over 1,000 wind turbines. He is still directly involved with the lift planning for every wind project. In addition, he served on the ANSI A10.21 Subcommittee for wind turbine construction / demolition and is a current member of the AWEA Construction Safety Subcommittee.
