Sean Allen, P.E., is the IT/Analytics/Global Safety Delivery Center Manager for IBM's Corporate Health and Safety Organization. Corporate Health and Safety (CH&S) is the organization within IBM that is responsible for implementing IBM’s strategic imperatives in workplace health and safety. This team executes its global mission through IBM’s externally certified Health and Safety Management System, (HSMS) which is codified through a corporate policy outlining all employees’ responsibility to support IBM’s Culture of Health and Safety. Mr. Allen has extensive experience in the areas of PSM, hearing conservation, and chemical safety, as well as IBM Notes and IBM Cloud (Bluemix) environments. In addition, Mr. Allen has been instrumental in the transition of the CH&S IT infrastructure into the IBM cloud and has a particular interest in AI and its incorporation into IT systems. Mr. Allen started at IBM as an equipment engineer with responsibilities in sintering and reflow furnaces. Mr. Allen has a background in mechanical engineering and has obtained his professional engineering licensure in the state of New York. He received his engineering degree from the Pennsylvania State University. Mr. Allen is married to Karina Sotomayor and they are parents of three young boys. In his spare time, Mr. Allen enjoys cooking, carpentry, automobiles, learning Spanish, and spending time with his family.
