Michael Baumann is currently the General Manager for Funplex Myrtle Beach. Myrtle Beach is the 3rd park in the Funplex portfolio. As General Manager, Michael oversees all 7 of their Rides and Off the Coast Bar and Grill. He led his team to open the park in just under nine months of construction. His career has focused on the theme park industry for over 15 years. He began as a Retail Associate with Mountain Creek Waterpark in Vernon, New Jersey. He worked up to Revenue Manager. From there he moved to Luna Park in Coney Island as the Retail Manager. After 3 years overseeing the Operation for the Retail, Games, and Arcade departments at Luna Park Michael took a position with Universal Studios Hollywood. In 2015 he started his journey with Universal Studios as an Assistant Manager of Retail Operations. Within nine months, Michael was promoted to Manager of Retail Operations. Michael was at Universal for almost six years. In 2018 Michael joined the IAAPA Games and Merchandise committee. He is a graduate of Arizona State University and holds a degree in Liberal Studies.
